UNRAVELLING THE MIND
A MULTISENSORIAL PERFORMANCE
Unravelling the Mind is a multisensorial experience that uses cutting edge scientific ideas to pose the question: what is intelligence? The show introduces the audience to the problem solving abilities of slime mould, as well as the insight held by indigenous Amazonian plant experts into microbiology and ecology, provoking both wonderment and respect for nature. Using innovative live music by award-winning duo Witch ’n’ Monk and scent designed by olfactory artist Klara Ravat, inspired by the smell of a complex rainforest; plants, moss and fruit, ‘Unravelling the Mind’ is an artistic response to the climate crisis, that provides a connection between science and the senses, leaving the audience with a new perspective on intelligent life, that places nature and the environment in the centre of our value system.

FLUID FORM CLUB
A CONCERT SERIES FOR PASSIONATELY UNPREDICTABLE MUSIC & INTERDISCIPLINARY WORK
FLUID FORM CLUB: passionately unpredictable music that defies categorisation for a community of curious minds
http://www.fluidformclub.net
The FLUID FORM CLUB was created to host a very specific breed of musicians who make passionate music and have one thing in common: they all evade stylistic classification and explore genuinely new sonic territory, with the ability to perform live with an intensity and conviction that overrides the need for categorisation. An increasing number of people are seeking music, art and ideas that blur the boundaries between genres and styles, so it became a clear necessity to establish a place for these adventurous and curious minds to meet, and to trust that they will discover music that is bold, defiant and exciting, in a new format that includes them as part of the community.
The FLUID FORM CLUB is hosted by resident band Witch 'n' Monk. For every event they invite a second band to share the bill. The format is unexpected, but suffice to say there is an element of collaboration between both bands. Each night also involves a performance by a non-musical artist, who creates an immersive experience with anything from improvised animation to live scent design.

el abrazo de la serpiente
a live music re-score for cinema screening
A series of screenings of the Oscar-nominated film ‘Embrace of the Serpent’, with a live performance of our own score. We use a variety of acoustic and electronic instruments, with a focus on traditional Latin American flutes and special tunings on guitar and voice to resonate with the themes of shamanism and animism that are central to the film.
We have secured rights to perform the film with the German distribution company and have a copy of the film with the original dialogue, and original music edited out, allowing us space to perform our live score.

AN AUDIO PORTRAIT:
COLLABORATION WITH STEVE URQUHART
“Just half an hour long, this is a brilliantly produced piece that definitely requires headphones. Repeated sounds, voices that ebb and flow, small sonic notes that build to create a wonderfully experimental audio piece about the making of the most recent album by Heidi Heidelberg and Mauricio Velasierra, AKA Witch ’n’ Monk. Both are charming characters, but this is far from a straightforward love-the-artist documentary. The music is beautifully recorded and the whole show hums with an amazing environmental presence. Produced by Steve Urquhart and featured on Resonance FM’s Clear Spot show, this is one to listen to when you want to be taken somewhere else.”
